Audience
It is presumed within this document that the reader is a registered WebDosh Merchant with active credentials. And that WordPress and WooCommerce are already installed and configured on their site.
System Requirements
- Business based in a supported country.
- PHP 7.3+
- WordPress 5.7+
- WooCommerce 4.8+
- An SSL certificate to use the payment gateway in live mode
Installation
To install Webgate for WooCommerce Payment:
1. Go to Plugins > Add New on your WordPress site.
2. Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the screen.
3. Select the webgate-wc-3ds2.zip file from your local filesystem.
4. Click the Install Now button.
5. When installation is complete, you’ll see “Plugin installed successfully.” Click the Activate Plugin.
6. Your browser will navigate to Installed Plugins page.
7. Find the plugin Webgate for WooCommerce and click Settings.
8. In the plugin Settings page, tick the Enable Webgate Payment checkbox, enter your API Merchant ID and Secret. If you do not have a Merchant ID and Secret, please contact Webgate on how to create an account.
9. Tick the Enable Test mode checkbox if you wish to do test transactions before going live.
10. Click the Save changes button.
11. Your site will now be able to accept credit card payments via Webgate for WooCommerce.
Test Transactions
Before placing test payment transactions, please be sure to tick Enable Test mode checkbox then click Save changes button. See Installation item 9.
Test transaction with credit card details
1. Go to your site’s store and add a few products to your cart.
2. Click Checkout (the navigation menu may change depending on your active theme).
3. In the Checkout page, fill out the Billing details if you haven’t yet. Fill-in the Cardholder (eg: Test Card), Card number (eg: 4111111111111111), Expiry and Card code (eg: 123).
4. Click on “Place order”
5. Your test order is completed.
Storing a payment method
1. Navigate to My Account, register and/or log into a test customer account (the navigation menu may change depending on your active theme).
2. Click Payment methods.
3. Click Add payment method button.
4. Fill out the credit card details and if you do not have a stored billing address, you will be asked to enter your billing details.
5. Click Add payment method button.
6. Your payment method is now stored.
Test transaction with a stored payment method
1. If you haven’t, register and log into a test customer account, and add a payment method (See Storing a payment method).
2. Go to your site’s store and add a few products to your cart.
3. Click Checkout (the navigation menu may change depending on your active theme).
4. If you have more than one stored payment method, tick the radio button next to the payment method you wish to use and fill-in the Card code (eg: 123).
5. If you have more than one stored payment method, tick the radio button next to the payment method you wish to use and fill-in the Card code (eg: 123).
4. Click on “Place order”
5. Your test order is completed.
