In this article: What a register record shows in the NexxPOS Portal.
Every register opened, adjusted, and closed in the app is recorded in the Portal, giving a full breakdown of that register's activity without needing to check the device itself.
1. Basic and cash information
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Device ID | The device this register was opened on. |
| Opened At / Closed At | When the register was opened and closed. |
| Open Amount / Close Amount | The cash amount entered when opening and closing the register. |
| Expected Cash | What the register total should be, based on the opening amount plus cash sales and adjustments. |
| Actual Cash Counted | What was physically counted at close. |
| Difference | Expected Cash minus Actual Cash Counted, flags whether the register was over or short. |
| Opened By / Closed By | The user who opened and closed the register. |
2. Register summary
The summary breaks the register down into what came in and what went out:
- Opening Float / Closing Float, the cash amount at the start and end of the register.
- Sales, Total Sales, Cash Sales, Card Sales, and Refunds for the register period.
- Cash Adjustments, cash added to the register during the day, with the reason and user recorded against each.
- Paid Out, cash removed from the register during the day, with the reason and user recorded against each.
- Denominations, a breakdown of the closing count by note and coin.
3. Transactions
A filterable list of every action taken against the register, Opening, Cash In, Cash Out, and Closing, each showing the amount, user, reason, and date. Filter by transaction type or date range to narrow the list down.
