NexxPOS is a cloud based point of sale app with Nexxtap tap to pay built in. This article covers the first time setup, from downloading the app through to activating a device for card payments.

1. Create a store in the NexxPOS Portal

A store needs to exist before the app can be logged into. This is done in the NexxPOS Portal, not the app itself. See Creating a Store for the full process, including setting up the admin user and connecting the Nexxtap Merchant ID.

1. Login to the NexxPOS Portal at admin.nexxpos.com
2. For your first login, use the the temporary NexxPOS password provided

3. Create a store in NexxPOS. Visit Creating a Store for more details. 

2. Download the app

1. Go to the Google Play Store.
2. Search for NexxPOS and download the app, or open the link above directly on the device.

3. Log in with admin credentials
 

1. Open the NexxPOS app.

   

2. Enter the admin email and the temporary password provided at setup. You can also use the store admin credentials created in step 1.

3. Login to the store and select the user profile

5. Enter Access code (This was created when you setup the store in the NexxPOS portal)

4. Activate Nexxtap

Nexxtap is built into NexxPOS, so no separate app download is needed for tap to pay. The first time the store is logged into, the app prompts for the following:

1. Enter the Merchant ID. This is found in the welcome email sent once the Nexxtap account is approved, and links the NexxPOS store to the Nexxtap merchant account.
2. Name the device. Give the device a recognisable name, such as "Front Register", so it can be identified later in the terminal list.
3. Activate the terminal. Enter the Nexxtap password to activate the device. This is separate to the NexxPOS login password. Once activated, the terminal is ready to accept tap payments.
