Setting Up NexxPOS
- Download the App
- Go to the Google Play Store.
- Search for NexxPOS and download the app.
- Login with Admin Credentials
- Open the app.
- Enter your admin email and password.
- If you haven’t created a Store yet:
- Go to the NexxPOS Portal and create a new Store and admin user.
- Set an Access PIN
- After logging in, you’ll be asked to set a 6-digit PIN.
- This lets you quickly unlock the app next time.
Activating Nexxtap
Nexxtap is built into NexxPOS. Once you log in to your store for the first time, you will be promoted to:
- Enter Your Merchant ID. You can find this in your welcome email
after your Nexxtap account is approved. - Name Your Device Give the device a name (e.g., "Front Register") to identify it in your terminal list.
- Activate the Terminal Enter your password to activate the device. Once activated, the terminal is ready to accept tap payments.
Note: Your Merchant ID links your NexxPOS store to your Nexxtap account. You can view registered terminals in the NexxPOS Portal under Terminal Master.
Viewing Transaction History
- Tap the ☰ menu (top left corner).
- Select Transaction History.
- Filter by:
- Cash
- Payment (Card)
- Refund
- You can search by order number.
- Tap a transaction to see:
- Transaction ID
- Time of payment
- Refund options (if allowed)
Performing a Refund
- Open a transaction card in Transaction History.
- Tap Refund.
- Enter:
- A reason for the refund
- Your Nexxtap Refund Access Code (found in your Nexxtap welcome email)
- Nexxtap will open.
- Present the same card used for the original payment to the device’s NFC reader.
Cash Management
Opening the Register
- Open the ☰ menu, select Cash Management, then Open Day.
- Enter the starting cash amount.
- (Optional) Tap the counter icon on the right side of the box to enter cash by denominations.
- A register summary will appear.
- Choose to Save Receipt (CSV) or Print Receipt.
- The register is now open.
You can configure whether the entered amount must match the expected amount in the NexxPOS Portal settings.
Cash Adjustments
- In Cash Management, tap:
- Cash Adjustment to add cash
- Cash Out to remove cash
- Enter a reason and the amount.
- Tap Remove/Add Cash.
A receipt will be generated and logged in Register History.
Viewing Register History
- Go to Register History in the side menu.
- You can view:
- All cash actions (add/remove)
- Opening float
- Register total
- Cash transactions during the day
Closing the Day
- In Cash Management, tap Close Day.
- Enter the closing cash amount.
- (Optional) Use the counter to enter denominations.
- If clearing the register for overnight, select Cash Drop.
- A closing receipt will be generated.
- An End of Day Summary will show:
- Opening/Closing totals
- Total cash and card sales
- Cash movements during the day
- You can Save as CSV or Print.
Managing Categories
- Open the ☰ menu, select Categories.
- Tap the + icon (bottom right).
- Enter a Category Name.
- (Optional) Select an Options Preset to apply to all products in this category.
- Tap Create Category.
Creating Products
- Go to Products in the menu.
- Tap the + icon.
- Enter:
- Product Name
- Price
- (Optional) Upload Image
- Select a Category
- Select applicable Taxes
- If using option lists:
- Tap Create Variant List or Create Add-on List
- Name the list (e.g., Size, Extras)
- Tap Add Option, then name and price each option
- Tap Create Product.
Creating Discounts
- Go to Discounts in the menu.
- Tap the + icon.
- Set:
- Discount Name
- Discount Type (Percentage or Fixed)
- Discount Amount
- Daily Use Limit
- Maximum Discount Amount
- Tap Create Discount.
Using a Discount
- On the cart screen, tap Discount at the top.
- Select the discount to apply.
- It will be applied to the total order.
Using Presets (Variants & Add-ons)
- Go to Presets from the side menu.
- Tap the + icon.
- Choose:
- Type: Variant or Add-on
- Name the list (e.g., Size)
- Add options:
- Name each option
- Add price (if needed) or leave as 0
- Tap Create.
Dashboard Overview
The dashboard shows store statistics including:
- Total Sales
- Number of Transactions
- Average Order Value
- Cash & Card Breakdown
- Top 5 Products
- Top 5 Users
You can also view Order History from the dashboard.
Order History
- Shows all Paid, Partially Paid, and Saved orders.
- Tap any order to view:
- Items
- Payment info
- Receipt details
Creating an Order
- Go to the POS Screen.
- Tap a product to add it to cart.
- Use the Search Bar or Category Tabs to find items.
- Set quantity and select any options.
- Tap Add to Order.
Editing the Cart
- Tap + / - to change quantity.
- Swipe left to delete an item.
- Swipe right to edit options.
- Tap the keypad icon to add custom items or charges.
Checking Out
Options Before Payment
- Name the Order: Tap “Add Order Name”.
- Add a Note: Tap “Add Note”, type message, tap “Add to Order”.
- Save the Order: Tap “Save Order” to return later.
Split Payment
- Tap Split Payment.
- To split by amount: Enter amount, tap Nexxtap It to take payment.
- To split by portions: Enter number of portions, tap Nexxtap It for each one. Once the payment has been made the screen will return to the checkout with the remainder owning. Repeat until all portions have been paid.
Card Payment (Nexxtap)
- Make sure the Nexxtap App is installed and activated on the same device.
- Tap Nexxtap It on checkout.
- The Nexxtap app will launch.
- Present the card or digital wallet to the device's NFC reader.
- Once complete, return to NexxPOS to:
- Print/Send Receipt
- Send order to Kitchen Display (KDS)
Cash Payment
- Ensure the register is open in Cash Management.
- At checkout, select Cash Transaction.
- Enter amount received.
- If the customer gives more than the total, the app will show the change to give.
