Categories group products together, and can carry their own variant and add-on lists that apply to everything in them. An Option Preset is a reusable variant or add-on list that can be built once and applied wherever it's needed, including to a category, rather than setting the same options up on every product individually.

1. Creating a category

1. Go to Category Management.
2. Click Add Category.
3. Enter the category's details.

Click Create Category. Categories can also be created in bulk using CSV upload, the same way products can.

2. Creating an option preset

1. Go to Option Presets.
2. Click Add Preset.
3. Name the attribute, for example "Size", and select the type, Variant or Add-on.
4. Click Add Option to add each individual choice, with a name and an amount.

Leave the amount as 0 or blank if the price varies per product, this can be set individually where the preset is applied.

3. How they fit together

There are two ways to standardise options across products:

• A category-level list, built directly on the category, applies automatically to every product in it.
• An Option Preset is built independently and can be reused across categories or applied to individual products, giving more flexibility than a list tied to one category.
