In this article: How to create and configure a Printer Profile, and what each setting controls.
A Printer Profile is the configuration layer that sits between a printer and what it actually prints. Rather than setting copies, templates and behaviour on each printer individually, you configure a profile once and assign it to one or more printers. Production Zones then determine which items reach that profile in the first place.
1. Creating a profile
- In the NexxPOS store portal, Go to Printer Management > Printer Profiles.
- Click Add Profile.
- Enter the profile's details.
| Field | Description |

| Profile Name | A label to identify the profile, how you'll recognise it when assigning it to a printer. |
| Number of Copies | How many copies print each time this profile fires. |
| Production Zone(s) | The zone or zones this profile handles. Items can be assigned a zone at the product level, and when an order is placed, a print job fires to every zone with at least one item in that order. The ticket prints the full order, but items belonging to this profile's zone are bolded and other items appear unbolded, so a station can see the whole order for context while their own items stand out. If none of this profile's zones have items in the order, no ticket prints. Click Create Zone if the zone you need doesn't exist yet. |
| Print Template | The template used for printing. A profile can have a different template for each print type it uses, for example a Receipt Template and a Build Ticket Template, so a receipt and a build ticket printing from the same profile can look completely different. |
| Auto Print | Whether a job prints automatically as soon as an order routes to this profile's zone, rather than requiring a manual print action. |
